Occupational safety? – A sure thing!

Many companies view occupational safety measures as a necessary evil, while they are in fact the necessary foundation for their competitiveness in the market, because only healthy employees can perform properly. IFOK supports the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV), the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), and the Federal State Committee for Safety and Health at Work (LASI) in raising awareness of these issues with the German Health and Safety Prize 2009.

revention pays: Avoiding accidents saves companies hard cash. The aim of the German Health and Safety Prize is to help people grasp this reality sufficiently that concrete actions are taken. To achieve this aim, IFOK was able to raise awareness of the competition over a wide area thanks to a competent competition office: The number of applications exceeded all expectations. The full spectrum of measures was represented – from a highly innovative product solution to a tailored portfolio of workshops and activities. IFOK’s service portfolio includes a structured, professional evaluation and support of the selection process in several committees as well as PR work and the award ceremony. The German Health and Safety Prize not only brings to light many practical, exemplary solutions, it also impressively demonstrates that companies are highly committed to the health and safety of their employees in the workplace – and are implementing measures regardless of company size, at reasonable cost, and with a significant impact not only on health and safety but also on motivation and corporate culture.
